I got there roughly three hours prior to my flight, which is strongly advised for overseas travel to the United States. When my Uber dropped me off at the authorized Terminal 1 door, I was struck by how serene and empty the space felt in contrast to the busy bustle of Terminal 3.

I will briefly remark that the onboard experience with United on their Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner was amazing, even though the focus of this review is on the terminal experience. Don't be fooled by Terminal 1's more subdued image if you're flying with United Airlines out of DXB.
