The quality was good, the service was prompt, and the prices were normal for airport cuisine.

The boarding procedure was efficiently run, and Southwest's distinctive open seating policy was in full effect. The gate agents made sure that everyone followed the right order and made clear announcements about the boarding groups. It was much better than I had anticipated to fly Southwest Airlines out of ORD Terminal 5. Despite O'Hare's reputation for being hectic and stressful, Southwest's Terminal 5 operation appeared well-run, effective, and occasionally even soothing. Everything made the trip enjoyable, from the simple check-in procedure to the efficient security and cozy waiting spaces.
