Is it safe to travel to Iran?

In spite of what has been described in the media, Iran has always been safe for tourists. Almost any tourist visiting Iran is surprised by the contradiction between the press and genuine Iran.

The center of antiquities and the heart of the Persian Empire, Iran has long played an essential role as an imperialist power in the region. Later, its strategic position and abundant natural resources, especially oil, became an element for superpower hostility. The country has its roots in a specific culture and society dating back to the Achaemenian period, 550 BC.

From nature to hundreds of cultural sites, people are encouraged to learn more and go to Iran. Recently, however, there have been growing concerns among tourists about planning their trip to Iran. The tension rose after the United States assassinated Iran's top military commander, General Qasem Soleimani. Iran retaliated by launching a ballistic missile at a US airbase in Iraq.

Should you be worried about your safety in Iran?

The answer is no.

According to the Travel Risk Map 2020, launched by Global Risk Experts International SOS in tandem with Control Risk, Iran is listed in the Medium category, the same as Turkey, Russia, Indonesia, Brazil, etc. If you look at the security map in 2019, Iran was as safe as Europe, with a low-risk position.

The report uses several factors, including political violence, social unrest, and petty crime and violence, to determine the risk of traveling to any country in the world. Some other factors involve transportation infrastructure, industrial relations, the effectiveness of security and emergency services, and the country's susceptibility to natural disasters.

Is it safe for US citizens to visit Iran?

Yes, United States citizens can go to Iran as tourists without any problem. US citizens must approve their itinerary and tour guide in advance and are not eligible for Visa on Arrival.

It is worth mentioning that American tourists who have already visited Iran have no complaints about their safety. Compliance with the itinerary is part of the visa approval requirements, so following the itinerary and the tour guide's instructions will ensure no problems.

Iranians like to show their hospitality to American citizens and offer to meet them for lunch or dinner. Hostility to some United States government actions does inhibit the Iranian people from having the most sincere feelings for the Americans themselves.

Is it safe to travel to Iran for women?

All women traveling to Iran must abide by the dress code for women in Iran. This means wearing a headscarf and not letting skin on your arms or legs show in public.

Plan your trip without hesitation

Iran houses 24 of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites and is one country you must visit. The visa process and travel guidelines are different for different countries, and things may seem confusing. Therefore, you should take the help of a travel agency and book your Iran flight with them. They will sort out your visa, travel guide, and itinerary concerns.

So if she has not traveled to Iran yet or wishes to see other parts of Iran where she you did not, do not hesitate now. Now is the time to start planning your trip to Iran and see what this ancient country is like.
