Throughout history, there has been a curious paradox that smart and talented people are often slandered, framed and even doomed to death. So, why is this?
The sage Lao Tzu said, "People with high intelligence and profound observations are generally knowledgeable and eloquent, but often not far away from death. Because they are vicious gossips who always enjoy exposing others’ misdeeds, which often leads themselves into danger."
Smart people are intelligent and sharp.
But they are also arrogant, gossipy, critical of social ills, which can easily offend others .
It doesn’t matter so much with a little chat while tea-break, but once these words are written on paper, or recorded into video and circulated through Internet, they will be framed.
People! Very few are against showing off.
Talented people are no exception.
They are always bragging about their so-called capacity.
They are fond of fame after all! Why do we like to comment on others’ faults?
It is to show that they are more intelligent and capable than others.
As a result, they become the victim of jealousy and frame-up.
The number of people who were imprisoned or executed for their speech or writing is legion.
So we must keep a low profile with little appetite for honors so as not to become the victim of jealousy.
In socializing with others, particularly those you are not close to or barely know, you need to watch your language. Otherwise, it is very likely to get yourself into trouble.
